Over a period of nearly a year, it has been fun, rewarding, and occasionally frustrating to gather the biographical data that make up the colorful life of my mother’s father. In the course of the research and construction of this story I acquired a genuine affection for this man and regret that I did not have the opportunity to know him personally.
