The material that follows was inspired by Mangelsdorf Family Routes by David Porter, April, 1992, and borrows heavily from that very scholarly work.

This story is focused on the descendents of William Mangelsdorf and Philomena “Minna” Halling, some of whom settled in the St. Louis area.

Certain edits have been made to the original, hard copy of the story to better fit this on-line presentation.
